To understand why water from a Wellness Filter is healthier than other types of filtered water we need to look at some of the research that went into its creation.

Water and Health

For over one hundred years scientists have been interested in discovering why the islanders of Okinawa, the Hunza's of Northern Pakistan and other, usually mountain dwelling, people around the world enjoy statistically healthier and longer lives than the rest of humanity.

While everyone agrees that diet, lifestyle, environment and genetics play a crucial role we believed that certain unique properties found in the water they drank played an equally important part.

After researching the springs at various locations around the world we found that healthier water had three three things in common;

  • Water always contained minerals like calcium, magnesium and silica
  • pH was usually balanced and around 6.5 to 7.8
  • There was a subtle yet detectable presence of natural negative ions

The presence of minerals and a balanced pH was easy to understand and explain but the presence of negative ions was unusual. How did they get there?

Antioxidant Water

What we discovered was that negative ions were being produced by the factors in the environment;

  • Far-Infrared Minerals
    Far-infrared energies were being emitted by the volcanic rocks and minerals that water was passing over. Far-infrared energy has a natural ionizing effect on the H2O bonding and cluster network of water.
  • Waterfall Effect
    Massive amounts of energy was being released as water crashing hundreds of feet onto the rocks below. This was also generating lots of negative ions.

Negative ions are sceintifically recognised as having a beneificial effect on living things. Were the negative ions acting as a natural antioxidant, helping these people fight free radical damage and lower the oxidative stress on their bodies?

While the effects were subtle, when combined with our next discovery the potential for real health benefits from drinking this water became obvious.

Wetter Water

Further testing revealed that the spring water at these places was actually 'wetter' or more hydrating than ordinary spring water. Essentially the water had a lower interfacial surface tension, due to the ordering of the hydrogren bonds, and as a result it was noticeably softer, and wetter on the palate.

A 'wetter' water not only cleans surfaces more easily but it can also carry more dissolved solids in solution, such as minerals, compared to ordinary water.

Of course, we quickly realised that drinking a 'wetter' water had profound implications for health as it could help to increase the uptake of vital nutrients and minerals while improving the removal of cellular wastes and toxins.

Paramagnetic Water

When we looked deeper into how these spring waters became  'wetter' we discovered that Magnetite, an iron rich volcanic mineral, was often present in the surrounding geology. What we learned about magnetite and lava was amazing...

As lava beds slowly cool over thousands of years the crystalling stuctures are imprinted with the energy of earth's natural magnetic field. This field shfts and changes over time and the lava becomes 'paramagnetic' , sometimes capable of generating a massive natural magnetic field that can distort compasses and show up on satellite imagery..

Because the hydrogen (H2O) bonds in water are highly polar they are easily affected the magnetic field generated by magnetite. As water passes through these paramagnetic fields the hydrogen bonds are re-arranged and this improves waters hydrating abililty. Magnetite and the earth's own magnetic fiels was making spring water 'wetter'.

Seeking to provide the benefits of this healthy spring water process to others we then embarked on a journey to  create a water filtration system that would embody the principles found in nature's own volcanic spring process.

This led us to create, over a period of 20 years, a breaktrhough water filter that is like no other.
